October 2026

On 2 October, @kryssar presented Intermediate Hacking — One Tunnel, Two Stories.

The talk follows a controlled lab scenario from a compromised public web server to private application data and a privileged Windows process, then revisits the activity from the defender’s perspective. It explains why network boundaries, application authorization, and software privileges need separate attention.

Presentation materials

The 32-slide audience deck has no speaker notes. The separate script explains each slide in plain language, including the implications for security leadership.

Demo video

Play this clip at slide 31. It lasts about 16 seconds and has no audio.

The recording illustrates the result in the tested Windows 10 lab environment. It does not establish that every installation of the software shown is affected. The private-data example in the talk concerns one record, not an entire database.
